More than 1,800 Panoramic or Bird’s Eye View Maps of communities throughout the United States and Canada (mostly from the northeastern states) were produced between the 1840’s and 1920’s. They give a pictorial record of cities and towns during the post-Civil War period that depicts the general life of a community - as would be seen at an angle only a bird could view. Annegret Baier: Outdoor Drumming Ceremony

Annegret will sing songs, play her drums, and introduce participants to a multitude of percussion instruments. This program, co-sponsored by the Skowhegan Free Public Library, will be held outdoors by the Kennebec River on the History House lawn. The event is free to the public but donations are greatly appreciated.

Riverside Heritage Tea

The Skowhegan History House and Bloomfield Garden Club are throwing a riverside tea party and you're invited! Local trio 'The Melody Makers' will play tunes from the 50's and 60's and tea and refreshments will be available. Come dance the afternoon away here along the banks of the Kennebec and join us in savoring these last beautiful days of summer.
